I can't get to the web site
Check your internet connection - see if you can access www.microsoft.com or www.yahoo.com.
I cannot access www.microsoft.com
If you cannot, then it is likely that you are not connected to the internet and you can't access any site.
Check with your internet provider or your Information Systems department.
I can access www.microsoft.com
If you are connected, make sure you have the
correct address, and that you are typing it in the address line of
your browser and not in one of the many Internet Search engines.
For example, if you go to www.microsoft.com, look in your browser
menu for the address line, it will start with "http://www." When
you find that line, type in www.collegeofdirectsupport.org
.
Still can't get to the web site .
Check, or have Information Systems check the following:
Check for Proxy server - you may need to have your browser configured for access.
Check for a Firewall - it may be blocking access to our sites.
IP addresses - You may not be configured
for the internet protocols you need.

I've made changes to the system, but they are not showing upback to top
This most often
occurs when you are using older versions of Netscape. Basically, the page you are trying to view may still be loaded in either the
browser memory or disk cache. Clearing this information will allow you to view the page properly.
More specifically, when you load a web page, information is temporarily stored in the memory cache and then gets transferred to
the disk cache. This is done to speed up the loading process of frequently visited pages-- loading information from your computer's
memory or hard drive is much faster then loading it from the Internet.
It's not that we are 'down on Netscape' but rather are aware of it's tendency to have difficulty with dynamic content. We have incorporated
coding that eliminates most of the problems, but still hear of them from time to time. Using the latest version of Netscape Communicator
helps greatly as they are addressing these criticisms as well.
How do I clear the cache?back to top
To clear the disk cache:
For Navigator 3.0
From the Options menu, select Network Preferences.

From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
Click the plus sign (+) next to Advanced.
Highlight Cache.
Click "Clear memory cache" and click OK.
Click "Clear disk cache" and click OK.
Click OK.
Click Reload on the Navigation Toolbar.
You should now see the changes on the page.
I put in the right answer and it scored me incorrectlyback to top
Here are the most frequent reasons we see this occur:
An answer was left blank. If you leave an answer blank it will be scored as incorrect.
You left the test before it was completed If you leave (intentionally or unintentionally) a test in the middle
the System will grade the unanswered questions as incorrect.
Your answer is incorrect Have your Learning Administrator go into Web Reports
and run Learner Test Summary. This will give a summary of your
answers and a listing of the correct answers to your Training
Administrator.
If your training administrator reviews the test, and believes the answer you gave was indeed correct, they should contact
our content management group at content@mcstrategies.com They will immediately
initiate a review of the question, and send a reply as soon as one is received from the author of the test.
What Internet Service Provider (ISP) do you use?back to top
MC Strategies, Inc. uses PSINet to deliver it's content to the Internet. We wanted to partner with
a company whose client service standards are as high as our own. PSINet is just such a company, with the bonus of
an infrastructure optimized for Internet performance. PSINet gives us the kind of service we, and our clients demand,
and access to unlimited bandwidth. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.psi.com
How do you secure our information?back to top
We take security seriously, and have taken a number of different measures to ensure that our clients data is protected.
First, we are a Verisign Secure Site ISP Partner. This partnership ensures we have access to every site security resource
we need to keep our clients training sites secure. In addition, we provide site security resources to our clients, to help them
meet their security needs as well.
Our application presents a single point of entry, anyone with access to the application must first log in. Once the login has been completed,
security is enforced using tiered access management similar to that used on local networks. Access to information is granted based upon
a need to know, and may be granted only by appropriate administrative personnel. System Administrator access may only be granted by our
Client Services staff.
Where data is concerned, we partition our data in ways that make it invisible to the Internet. So our applications can see your training information,
but a hacker can't. Finally, we don't accept potentially sensitive data, like Social Security Numbers, as part of the data we store. Doing so
represents an unnecessary risk, and with the many options available for creating Learner ID's it just isn't necessary.
What plans have you taken to provide uninterrupted service to the training web site?back to top
Service interruptions may occur in four different places:
the network at your facility
our network
our Internet Provider's network
an interexchange problem elsewhere on the
Internet
We have taken measures to ensure that our system has minimal down time by doing two things -- signing with a reputable service
provider and having backup systems in place. Our main training systems are hosted in our Internet provider's hosting facility here in
Atlanta. The PSINet Atlanta Hosting Facility features:
multiple redundant facility power sources
multiple redundant diesel backup generators
peering arrangements with multiple internet carriers on different exchanges
secure 24x7 monitoring
In addition, our own network operations center (NOC) is backed up by a diesel generator, with redundant connection methods to our
remote server system. We continually monitor our offsite systems to measure both health and utilization.
How can you set the passing score for tests?back to top
Minimum passing scores for both pre-testing and post-testing can be set by the
Learning Administrator through the System Options program. You may
also set the minimum passing score for any module using the Module Properties application in the Administration System.
