Disability Social History Project
People with disabilities have an exciting and rich history. This project seeks to share this with the world. It calls attention to how people with disabilities have been treated in the past. It supports viewing this history through the social, political, economic, and religious climates of the times. This project presents images and information to give an introduction to disability social history.
A Guide to Disability Rights Laws
This guide provides an overview of US civil rights laws. It focuses on laws that ensure equal opportunity for people with disabilities. You can find out more about how these laws may apply to you or people you support.
Parallels in Time
This is an online review of the history of developmental disabilities. It begins with the Ancient Era through the 1950s (Part One). It also covers the 1950s to today (Part Two). You can find information about policy and advocacy. It has information about the legacy of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
The Riot!
The Riot is an online magazine about self-advocacy. It focuses on celebrating the strengths of self-advocates. It has a newsletter and shorter briefs about advocacy topics. They also offer self-advocacy toolkits. This is a resource to help individuals become stronger advocates. They strive to help people live the life they want with the support they need.
